Saturday Saturday Afternoon: Khaas Community Centre Foyer Children and young people of Khaas have been working with a local artist, using new and recycled textiles to create beautiful and useful objects. Come along and see the products, buy a few of their wares or try out the free workshop for yourself with the young people helping you along. 10.30 am: Circle rules Football Mina Road Park There will be fun and fumbling game of Circle Rules Football in Mina Rd Park on Sat 24th September starting at 1pm. Free to all ages and abilities. 3 pm: Amati Quartet The Tunnel The Amati Quartet are Alice Robson (1st violin), Jess Watson (2nd violin), Liz Wild (viola) and Heather Graham (Cello). They have been playing together since 2001 and enjoy meeting regularly in their homes in St Werburghs for the wonderful combination of tea, cake, gossip and music (in that order!). They play a wide ranging repertoire; from Bach to the Beetles, Mozart to 'Molly on the Shore'! As well as playing at weddings, birthdays and corporate events around the Bristol region, they enjoy raising money through charity concerts and have played at the Bristol Music Club, Clifton Hill House and Nailsea and Almondsbury Church. Ongoing till Late: The Quickening Happening Upstairs at the Miners Arms During Saturday afternoon and evening. Open to all. Please note there will be no fourth wall at this event. Throughout the Day: Awaz Utaoh Community Centre Awaz Utaoh joins the St Werburghs Arts Trail 2011 bringing a mini cultural festival to the St Werburghs Community Centre on Sunday 25th September. There will be Bollywood dancing workshops to get jiggy to, sari wrapping, the beauty of henna, interactive Asian cooking demonstrations and a display of artwork created by the group. 11 am - 4 pm: Ashley Vale Allotment Association - Annual Produce Show 2011 Ashley Vale Allotments AVAA is staging its second Produce Show. The event aims to share in the enjoyment of growing food however experienced or successful you are. You don’t need to be a member of Ashley Vale Allotments Association to enter. If you enjoy growing your own food, then we would love to welcome you along to admire splendid and quirky produce or to bring along your own entry presented in the way you think best sets off your produce. There will also be a food swap, food to enjoy, plus live music from 12 noon, as well as the bounty of the produce show! 1.00 - 1.30 pm: The Ukons Community Centre Ukuleles and singing by men who are old enough to know better but too old to care. 2.00 - 2.30 pm: The Ukons Wild Goose Space More ukuleles! 3.00 - 3.30 pm: Gurt Lush Choir Community Centre The Gurt Lush Choir has over 200 members. We sing songs from all over the world, in gurt lush multi-part harmonies: Hot Gospel, Ancient Spirituals, East-European/African/Celtic, English folk songs, the odd classical number, Pop and Soul. We aim to sing the eclectic mix of a good community choir, but with the richer, more ambitious harmonies, tone colour and sophistication of a choral society. We rehearse weekly in term time: Monday nights in St Werburghs, Tuesday nights at St Andrews, Thursday lunchtimes in Redland, and Thursday nights in Hotwells.
